The practice of Corporate Governance at Braskem is based on three points: ethics, transparency, and respect for Customers, Members, Shareholders, Suppliers, and all other stakeholders with which the Company relates. Since its founding in 2002, the Company has reaffirmed its commitment to aligning the interests of its Shareholders with ethical and competitive actions while adding value to its assets.
In its capacity as a Publicly-Held Company, Braskem has participated in the Level 1 Corporate Governance of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (BM&FBovespa) since 2003. Outside of Brazil, Braskem’s shares are also listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Latibex – the Latin American section of the Madrid Stock Exchange – and are, therefore, subject to the requirements of the respective regulatory agencies, namely, the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), in the United States, and Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME), in Spain.
Braskem was one of the first Foreign Private Issuers (FPI) in South America to meet, in 2005, the requirements of Sections 404 and 302 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
Braskem is committed to pursuing a transparent and responsible management. The practices are described in the Company’s Code of Conduct – a guide that sets out the principles, values and norms that guide the corporate conduct of the Members in both internal and external relations.

Created to record, investigate and promote decisions involving complaints of violation of the Code of Conduct, the Ethics Committee is a key tool to ensure compliance and the continuous improvement of Braskem’s processes and internal controls.
Complaints are made from the Ethics Hotline, a channel open to Members, Customers, Suppliers and other publics for the reporting of all irregularities in the Company’s processes. The complaints are anonymous and the facts are treated with complete confidentiality. All records are analyzed in a careful and responsible manner, contributing to transparent management and to a safer and healthier environment.
